HybernARCTIC
Hydrographic features and microbial assemblages as fingerprints of antibiotic resistance and pathogen spread under climatic change scenario
HIBERNATE and HybernARCTIC projects aim at elucidating the relationships between water masses and bacterial communities in the Kongsfjorden, Svalbard archipelago (as a case study for Arctic fjords). The activities are linked to the International Kongsfjorden Year (IKY, conducted between summer 2024 and summer 2025), a research initiative developed within the Kongsfjorden System Flagship at Ny-Ålesund to collect year-round, high-resolution, multidisciplinary data on core parameters of the marine ecosystem in Kongsfjorden.
