The Ship Management Group brings together the personnel and skills related to the management of scientific instruments of the vessels and the technical-management skills needed to guarantee scientific support in the marine, offshore and coastal areas.
The Group comprises technical and scientific personnel, professionals in the geophysical, geological and technical fields, with in-depth knowledge of the acoustic instrumentation installed on board the icebreaker ship Laura Bassi, with many years of experience at sea.
The Group operates on the various research objectives and projects by coordinating internally and defining, in agreement with and under the supervision of the Centre for Management of Maritime Infrastructure Director, the human resources to be assigned according to a flexible working methodology with the creation of dedicated teams.
Thanks to the Technical Ship Structure – Struttura Tecnica Navale - STN, the technical management of the vessels and the administrative management of the contractual obligations of planning, authorisation and liquidation are ensured.
The structure ensures the control of the fairness of the actions contractually foreseen by the manager and the shipowner. It anticipates problems, defines technical solutions and plans interventions according to the specific missions performed by the ship.
As far as its authority is concerned, the structure must guarantee the functionality of the ship for the pursuit of the scientific and logistic purposes to which OGS is committed towards the relevant scientific community.
