IHB - CAS

Mechanisms of red tides and hypoxia as ecological marine disasters and technologies for its early warning and emergency security along the sea of Belt and Road contries

IHB-CAS The main objective of this study is to investigate the effects of allochthonous nutrients inputs and the sediment-water interaction on the nutrient availability for primary producers. Four seasonal surveys were carried out in the gulf of Trieste through a a joint collaboration with National Institut of Biology- Marine Biology Station of Piran, the Jozef Stefan Institut of Ljubljana and the Chinese Academy of Science – Institut of Hydrobiology of Wuhan. The pelagic –benthic interaction were quantified together with the riverine nutrients inputs in order to better comprehend the relative importance of the benthic fluxes for the nutrients bioavailability.
