Studi Interventi Ricarica Ravvenamento Controllato
The project SIRRC - Studio propedeutico all'attività di progettazione di interventi finalizzati alla messa in esercizio di impianti di ricarica e ravvenamento della falda freatica in condizioni controllate (Preliminary study for the design of interventions aimed at the commissioning of recharge and replenishment systems for the phreatic aquifer under controlled conditions) involves an agreement between the following parties:
- Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura Friulana (Land Reclamation Consortium of the Friulian Plain)
- University of Udine – Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture (UniUd)
- University of Padua – Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering (UniPd)
- OGS
The responsibilities of each party are structured as follows:
- Geological and hydrogeological characterization (UniUd):
The structure of the aquifer is analyzed to understand stratigraphy, piezometry, and hydraulic properties such as conductivity and transmissivity. - Interactions between surface and groundwater (UniUd and UniPd):
The exchanges between rivers, springs, and aquifers are studied to ensure sustainable management. - Numerical modeling (UniPd):
A three-dimensional groundwater flow model is developed to simulate the behavior of the aquifer. - Geophysical surveys (OGS):
Techniques such as electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and seismic transects are used to reconstruct the aquifer structure. - Quantitative and qualitative monitoring (UniUd, together with the Land Reclamation Consortium of the Friulian Plain):
Piezometric measurements and physico-chemical analyses of water are carried out to assess the quality and quantity of water resources.
In particular, the OGS will be responsible for subsurface characterization through geophysical surveys in Sammardenchia (Province of Udine) and Carpeneto (Province of Udine), and for the reprocessing of seismic transects (acquired as part of the Warbo project) in the Mereto (Province of Udine) site.
