Building Inventory for Earthquake Damage Assessment: Results of the OGS Project with the “Niccolò Copernico” State Science High School

On the anniversary of the 1976 earthquake that hit the Friuli region, the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS) and the “Niccolò Copernico” State Science High School presented the results of the project CEDAS: Building Inventory for Earthquake Damage Assessment today in Udine, at the “Paolino d’Aquileia” Hall.

The project is part of the Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO) program and was developed to raise awareness among younger generations about seismic risk reduction.

Observation, analysis, and understanding were the key steps of the project, which enabled students not only to explore their knowledge and potential but also to become conscious agents in ensuring their own safety and that of others.
