Conclusion of the Transnational Access call funded by the PNRR ECCSELLENT project
Within the PNRR ECCSELLENT project, aimed at strengthening the Italian facilities of the ECCSEL ERIC research infrastructure, 20 researchers from 12 European scientific institutions, universities, and companies developed research projects in the CCUS sector (Carbon Capture, Transport, Utilisation, and Storage). The initiative was promoted by OGS, as coordinator of the Italian national node of the ECCSEL ERIC infrastructure. The call, part of the Transnational Access activities foreseen by the ECCSELLENT project, made it possible to cover the costs of accessing the infrastructure facilities, encouraging the participation of researchers from across Europe.
“Research infrastructures such as ECCSEL ERIC,” emphasizes Cinzia De Vittor, head of the Italian national node, “have among their priorities responding to global challenges that require advanced expertise, high-quality data, and the joint effort of Europe’s best scientists. For this reason, they provide state-of-the-art facilities, resources, and technologies that are not easily accessible on the market.”
Thanks to transnational access, it has been possible to support scientific excellence in research and promote technology transfer to industry, contributing to the development of innovative solutions in a strategic sector for the energy transition.
