Donating your 5x1000 to OGS also means providing tangible support for research and young talents!

You can support the scientific research activities carried out by the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics - OGS by allocating the 5x1000 of your tax to this leading scientific body, with offices in Trieste and Udine. All you need is to sign the appropriate box on the relevant tax return form, indicating the OGS Fiscal Code: 00055590327.

As an example, the OGS was recently able to use funds from the 5x1000 campaign to fund a scholarship established in memory of Lorenzo Petronio, a highly regarded researcher and colleague at the Institute, who sadly passed away in April 2022. This initiative transforms his memory into a tangible opportunity to support new talented individuals and promote scientific research. 

The scholarship was awarded to Atnafu Debebe Kifle, a PhD student at the University of Padua, who was selected for his research in the field of Applied Geophysics to work in the Geophysics section of the OGS.

His research project, titled "Marine Seismic: implications for sea bottom and water column characterization", focuses on marine seismic surveys and the characterisation of the seabed and water column. This research will be supervised by Giorgio Cassiani (Department of Geosciences, University of Padua), with the co-supervision of Umberta Tinivella and Marina Lipizer, both from OGS.
