Launch of the BioTiles Project: New Solutions to Increase the Resilience of Lagoons to Climate Change

The BioTiles project, which is receiving co-funding from the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme, held its inaugural meeting at the headquarters of the OGS.

The project, "BioTiles – Safeguarding and Enhancing the Resilience of Lagoon Ecosystems to Climate Change through the Application of Innovative and Integrated Methodologies", coordinated by the OGS, aims to develop and test innovative solutions for the protection and regeneration of lagoon ecosystems, which are among the most vulnerable habitats to the effects of climate change.

The project involves partners from Italy and Slovenia: the OGS, the National Institute of Biology (Slovenia), DOPPS - BirdLife Slovenia, JZKPS - Javni zavod Krajinski park Strunjan, Mimma Dreams APS (Italy), and the Municipality of Grado, will partner up over the next two years to promote climate resilience in transitional areas.
