The Oceanography Unveiled seminars were initially launched in 2024 by OGS and CNR-ISMAR. The initiative has since expanded to include the Università di Napoli Parthenope, Sapienza University of Rome, University of Salento, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station (SZN), engaging a large part of the Italian oceanographic community.
The seminar series is also part of the outreach, education, and technology transfer activities of the Italian PNRR project RETURN – Multi-Risk sciEnce for resilienT commUnities underR a changiNg climate, with particular reference to Spokes 1, 4, and 8 (pollution, climate, environmental degradation). The initiative also contributes to the Decade of Ocean Science and is supported by the TQLS Laboratory for Quantitative Sustainability.
