RIVIERADE kicks off: climate science for more resilient European seas and coastlines

The RIVIERADE project has officially launched. Funded by the Horizon Europe programme with over €4.3 million and coordinated by OGS, it will bring together an international consortium of excellence over the next four years to develop new scientific tools and climate services to support climate change adaptation in European marine and coastal areas.

The project aims to overcome the challenge of translating complex global climate models into practical, usable information at regional and local scales. For the first time in a systematic way, RIVIERADE will integrate the expertise of the CORDEX community (regional climate modelling) and the Copernicus Marine Service (operational oceanography) to create a new generation of climate services.
