The idea of the seminars "Oceanography Unveiled", initially launched by oceanographers from OGS and ISMAR-CNR, immediately received enthusiastic support from colleagues at Italian universities (University of Naples Parthenope, University of Rome La Sapienza, University of  Salento, University of Venice Ca' Foscari) as well as Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (SZN), and has since grown to cover most of the Italian oceanography community.
