“Storie di Terremoto: Imparare dal Passato per Prepararsi al Futuro”: Winners Announced for the Competition Marking the 50th Anniversary of the Friuli Earthquake
To mark the 50th anniversary of the 1976 earthquake, a competition was launched for classes, groups and individual pupils from primary and secondary schools, with the aim of collecting and showcasing, through the perspective of younger generations, the experiences of those who personally lived through significant seismic events such as the earthquake in Friuli.
The initiative had a twofold purpose: on the one hand, to preserve the collective memory associated with earthquakes that have shaped history, both in Italy and around the world; on the other, to strengthen a culture of resilience among younger generations by fostering an understanding of the value of remembrance, awareness of natural hazards and preparedness in the event of an emergency.
