EDF SIGMA3

OGS will contribute to Work Package 4 of SIGMA3 program. SIGMA3 is a research and development (R&D) program on SeIsmic hazard and Ground Motion Assessment (sigma-programs.com). It is the 3rd part of a larger R&D initiative initiated in 2011 to support innovation in the field of probabilistic hazard assessment (PSHA). SIGMA3 is funded by the energy industry at 100%. The program grounds its roots in some methodological developments already leaded by OGS, as well as in the identified needed improvements of the two preceding editions, labelled SIGMA and SIGMA2. OGS research unit will focus on improving the OpenQuake (OQ) Engine's capabilities for performing probabilistic fault displacement hazard analysis (PFDHA). The activities will be carried out in collaboration with EDF and the GEM Foundation.
