GeoSciences RISE

The GeoSciences RISE project aims to enhance the GeoSciences IR research infrastructure, created under the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) by a partnership consisting of 3 Research Bodies and 13 Universities, coordinated by ISPRA. It is a cloud infrastructure that provides access to data, services, tools, and training developed in line with FAIR principles across 12 priority geological themes for the Italian Network of Geological Services (RISG). The project aims to foster the technological advancement of industrial companies in the geosciences sector by promoting the adoption of advanced technologies, with the goal of creating new opportunities in the sector and generating positive impacts on the economic and social development of less developed regions. Further, GeoSciences RISE project intends to explore strategically relevant themes consistent with the objectives of the National Strategy for Smart Specialization (SNSI), such as hydrogeology, geothermal resources, the remediation of contaminated sites, hydrogeochemical monitoring, and cultural heritage threatened by geological hazards.
