MareDireFare 2026

MareDireFare is a science communication project funded by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

The main goal of MareDireFare 2026 is to increase knowledge of the sea, its resources, and its fundamental importance for our survival, while at the same time promoting a culture of awareness, action, prevention, and respect for the marine ecosystem among the public—especially younger generations.

The theme of the 2026 edition will be “Beyond Blue: The Colors of the Sea”, presenting the sea as a constantly evolving laboratory of colors: from the familiar blue to the green of algae and seagrasses, from the black of the ocean depths to the white of sea foam and polar ice, all the way to the astonishing multicolored variety of marine life.
