Mspmed
Towards the operational implementation of MSP in our common Mediterranean Sea
The general objective of the MSP-MED project is to support the Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) process in the Mediterranean, by promoting the development of coherent and coordinated plans across Mediterranean marine regions and among EU Member States, in line with the objectives of the MSP Directive. The competent MSP authorities of France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, and Spain are directly involved in the project or support their respective national institutions in participating and are engaged in its development.
The project will support the definition of different national MSP objectives through specific tasks, assisting the roadmaps toward the adoption of plans by the participating Member States. Key objectives include sharing most of the relevant MSP-related information, especially that which is transnational in nature, and promoting effective exchange of experiences among Mediterranean Member States and third countries.
Some activities will be open to all Mediterranean countries and linked to other international initiatives. A successful maritime spatial planning process can only exist when stakeholders come together to shape the ocean of the future. In this section, you can consult the official calendar: many workshops and meetings will take place during the two years of the MSP-MED project.
