TREzze e CORalligeno dell’ALto Adriatico: valorizzazione e gestione sostenibile nel Golfo di Trieste (TRECORALA)

Research Project: The objective of the TRECORALA project is to expand biological knowledge of trezze and coralligenous seabeds in the Gulf of Trieste, and to identify guidelines for the management, protection, and enhancement of this natural heritage. The project aims to strengthen the attractiveness and competitiveness of the area while contributing to the preservation of biodiversity.

By gathering information on fishery exploitation, the project will develop management proposals for certain commercially valuable marine resources. The results will be disseminated through dedicated informational seminars, targeted at stakeholders involved in fisheries management and the tourism use of sites of interest.

As a final outcome, the project aims to provide the necessary tools for the joint cross-border management of marine areas, also fostering the development of the tourism sector.
