Profile

Education: Degree in Physics; PhD in Geophysics and Geodynamics

I am an oceanography researcher with over 20 years of experience in geophysics and geophysical modelling. My current work focuses on the impact of global warming on the ocean carbon cycle, particularly the role of the ocean in long-term carbon storage. I investigate temperature-dependent respiration processes within a global biogeochemical model.

Previously, I specialized in geophysics, geodynamics, and rock physics. I worked on full-waveform modelling in elastic, poroelastic, and viscous media to support data acquisition, processing, and interpretation. This included high-temperature simulations involving melting and fluids under critical and supercritical conditions, with applications to Enhanced and Super-Hot Geothermal Systems. I contributed to the implementation, testing, and application of an anisotropic travel-time tomography method in the OGS code CAT3D. My expertise also includes seismic interferometry, Seismic While Drilling (SWD), borehole waveform modelling with drill pipes, and Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP).
