Characterization of marine plankton in both natural environments and laboratory cultures, with particular emphasis on associated microbial communities. Assessment of the taxonomic composition of plankton-associated microbial communities and focus on their functions, including in aquaculture contexts, with special interest in identifying probiotic and antibiotic activities (plate assays and bioinformatic analyses) of bacterial and/or fungal components.
