The 2024 edition of AMARE-MED was focused on modelling trawl survey data using traditional and geostatistical methods and their use in multispecies models for fisheries management. Teachers: Andre Punt (UoW) and Lewis Barnett (NOAA).
The full week was dedicated to;
- basic analysis of trawl survey data,
- application of geostatistical models implemented using sdmTMB, including environmental covariates using data from Copernicus Marine Service,
- prediction of species spatiotemporal distributions under climate change and species overlap,
- use of the results in Models of Intermediate Complexity (MICE) for evaluation of projections and trade-off analysis.
The course mixed lectures, programming and working group exercises.
The school was held from 28 July to 03 August 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal.
