RETURN Project: results of Spoke 4 coordinated by OGS presented in Rome
The event dedicated to presenting the results of the VS4 Spoke of the PNRR RETURN – Multi-Risk Science for Resilient Communities under a Changing Climate project, coordinated by OGS and focused on the degradation of terrestrial, coastal and marine environments, concluded today in Rome.
The initiative represented an important opportunity for dialogue among scientific institutions, universities, research centres and companies involved in the project, with the aim of sharing the main achievements reached over the past three years and fostering new synergies for the integrated management of environmental risks in the context of increasingly evident climate change.
During the two-day event, researchers presented innovative data, protocols and tools developed within the VS4 Spoke, with a focus on chemical pollution and microplastics, wildfires, soil degradation and coastal and marine ecosystems. Special attention was given to monitoring activities, predictive modelling, mitigation and environmental restoration.
