EMBRC_UP DeEPInAct

The EMBRC_UP DeEPInAct project intends to strengthen and expand the Italian infrastructures already integrated in the European EMBRC ERIC network, consolidating the role of Italy as a leading research system. The initiative was created with the aim of consolidating Italy's role as a scientific and technological hub of reference in the European marine research scenario, contributing to national industrial competitiveness and the sustainable development of the territories, with a special focus on Southern Italy. The consortium comprises institutions of excellence - including SZN as lead partner and the various research institutes and universities distributed throughout Italy: CNR, OGS, ENEA, ISPRA, University of Turin, University of Messina, University of Cagliari, University of Tuscia, University of Naples, as co-proponents. This highly integrated network represents a true ecosystem of innovation, capable of combining scientific, engineering and environmental expertise to address the challenges of ecological transition. With this set-up, EMBRC_UP DeEPInAct aims to strengthen Italy's role as a strategic European hub for research in the area of marine resources. The project aims at consolidating and enhancing the Italian node of EMBRC_IT, strengthening Italy's strategic role within the European network dedicated to fundamental and applied research in marine biology and ecology, while promoting the development of blue biotechnologies. In this context, the initiative intends to promote national leadership along the entire health and food chain, from the environment to its resources, to ensure their preservation and sustainability.
