European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) Data Ingestion

European Marine Observation and Data Network for data ingestion

OGS-NODC participates in the EMODnet Ingestion project. The European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) is a long-term initiative supported by the European Commission since 2009 to ensure that European marine data is easily accessible, interoperable and free of usage restrictions. Seven thematic EMODnet consortia are involved in the management of different types of data: Bathymetry, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Human Activies, Physics and Sea Bed Habitats.

Then there is the EMODnet Ingestion Partnership. It has developed a portal that enables data providers who are not yet integrated into the EMODnet network to easily import their data, store it securely, distribute it via EMODnet and thus contribute to applications that are useful to society.
