FAIR Liquidity Unifying Interoperable Data and AI (FLUID-AI)

The FLUID-AI project introduces a new approach to address the lack of interoperability between data, Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) models and solutions within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), extending FAIR principles to address the unique demands of AI-ready data and models. 

OGS contributes to a use-cased focused on AI on Seafloor Litter images and videos, aiming to apply deep-learning techniques for the automated detection and classification of seafloor litter, based on underwater imagery acquired during oceanographic exploration missions. The overall objective is to support efforts toward the monitoring and characterization of marine debris, from deep-sea areas to shallow waters.

By promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration, standardization, and open science principles, FLUID-AI aims to transform the EOSC into a dynamic, AI-ready ecosystem.
