The Italian icebreaker is taking part in the 39th campaign of the National Antarctic Research Programme. It will be travelling around the Ross Sea for two months
After the final work on board, the OGS ship leaves the port of Naples to reach Antarctica. It will arrive at its destination in January 2024 to take part in the 39th PNRA campaign
The mission is led by Cnr, ENEA and OGS within the framework of the National Research Programme for Antarctica (PNRA). Around 130 researchers and technicians are taking part in the expedition, supported by members of the armed forces
OGS is partner of the project and participated in the final event, held in the framework of the international interdisciplinary workshop on marine robotics "Breaking the Surface"
