CREST

As a strategic initiative for strengthening the national scientific computing infrastructure, the CREST project aims to enable the dissemination of advanced digital technologies across production systems, research, and SMEs. The project’s goal is to bolster the HPC-BD-AI infrastructure by integrating state-of-the-art computational assets, creating a data lake, and enabling cloud-native AI services with a federated and sustainable approach. Modernizing the data centers in Bari, Catania, Naples, Cagliari, and CNAF will allow us to introduce advanced technologies for computing, storage, and connectivity, with a focus on environmental sustainability and DNSH principles. CREST enables the adoption of KETs in strategic sectors such as aerospace, health, environment, culture, industry and mobility, supporting the dual digital and green transition. The project promotes collaboration with companies and SMEs through PoC, training and technology transfer, contributing to competitiveness and innovation.
